ponchos in the rain

Last week I was in Santa Barbara looking at wedding venues and it was raining cats and dogs. Hills that would have been straw-dry were showing signs of rolling green. I also caught workers in the green fields wearing their brilliantly colored ponchos.

Interesting because as I look around, the source and the proximity of field to plate seems to be important.  Interested in avoiding factory farm meats? check out this article on the Huffpo by Nicolette Hahn Niman.  I’m sooo going to read her book…fascinatin’ lady.
